EASYPIECING CLASS: PICCADILLY SQUARES
During this two-day class you will make this traditional on-point quilt in a non-traditional way! Learn to use Easy Piecing Border Panels by Ten Sisters Handicraft for a fun, fast, and accurate project. It is very simple to make this design larger! Instructor Heather Dunn is ready to show you how. You'll be amazed at how beautifully these 2" finished squares come together using the grid method. This is a great SCRAPBUSTER!
SUPPLY LIST:
- "Around the Block" book by Carmen Geddes, TenSisters Handicraft (available here)
OR sample size pattern available for purchase in class for $10
Valentine option also available for purchase in class for $10 - Tensisters EasyPiecing Border Grid - 6 panels of 2" finished border grid for 52" x 66" finished size (same as small sample in store)
- Tensisters EasyPiecing Border Grid - 15 panels of 2" finished border grid for 74" x 88" finished size (book pattern and large sample)
- Fabric requirements (listed below)
- Sewing machine
- Sewing machine foot - 1/4" (no guide)
- Basic sewing supplies (scissors, thread, seam ripper, etc.)
- Glue stick - Heather recommends Elmer's white glue stick
- CHAIN (BLUE): 1 yd.
- BACKGROUND (WHITE): 1 yd.
- 6 assorted FQs or 1/4 yds.
- BORDER: 1 yd.
BEFORE CLASS:
Cut all yardage into 2 1/2" squares
* each FQ yields 56 squares
* each 2 1/2" x WOF strip yields 16 squares
- CHAIN (BLUE): 218 squares
- BACKGROIUND (WHITE): 204 squares
- assorted FQs or 1/4 yds. -- at least 44 of two cuts, 48 of three cuts, and 56 of one cut
YARDAGE USED IN EXAMPLE:
Each fabric color may include many different patterns for a scrappy look!
