QUILT CLASS: COLLAGE QUILTS - TWO-PART CLASS

Shaylene Engh is a certified Laura Heine collage quilting instructor and she is so excited to teach collage quilting! Collage quilting can be a fun and non-stressful quilting project (like never having to worry about matching points) and is a great scrap buster. It is an opportunity for you as a quilter to express your creativity in a unique way!

In this class you will learn Laura Heine’s basic techniques for collage quilting. You and Shaylene will talk about supplies, fabric choices, fabric placement, background, and finishing details while working on one of Laura's Teeny Tiny Collage Quilt patterns. Choose one of six designs (sold 3 per pattern) available now in-store and online.

FINISHED SIZE: dependent on pattern; 16" x 20" size recommended

QUILT REQUIREMENTS: 

• PATTERN:  Laura Heine collage quilt pattern (Teeny Tiny Collage Collection 3 or 5 available at Corn Wagon Quilt Co.)

• 2/3 yd. backing fabric

• scraps large enough for each part of the collage

OTHER SUPPLIES: 

• Sewing machine 

• Basic sewing supplies (scissors, thread, pins, seam ripper, rotary cutter, ruler, binding clips, etc.)

• Portable ironing board & mini iron (highly recommended)

• 16x23 piece of Pattern Ease foundation

• 3 yds. of 12" wide Steam a Seam 2 (available at Corn Wagon Quilt Co.)

• #2 pencil

• Karen K Buckley medium fine point (blue handle) Perfect Scissors (available at Corn Wagon Quilt Co.)

• Goddess Applique Pressing Sheet 17" x 24" (available at Corn Wagon Quilt Co.)

• Small rotary cutter, cutting mat, and ruler
