SUZANNE & LYNETTE'S PIECING CLUB: MOSAIC STAR

Suzanne & Lynette's Piecing Club is an intermediate class offering opportunities to take your piecing skills to the next level. It's a great one to take with a friend -- or a fun way to make more quilty friends!

For this session we will make the Mosaic Star quilt by Lo & Behold Stitchery. It is a traditionally pieced, block-based pattern that explores a variety of fun, advanced beginner piecing skills including half square triangles, flying geese, half rectangle triangles and more! Choose from five sizes and use either yardage, half yards, quarter yards or fat quarters. It includes helpful diagrams, thorough instructions, alternate color-way ideas and a coloring page to plan your quilt.

BONUS! Lunch is included in your registration fee.

OUR SAMPLE IS THE "MODERN MULTI-COLOR THROW," FINISHED SIZE: 72" X 72"
*NOTE: 5 other sizes (baby, crib, large throw, & queen) and colorway options are available in the pattern.

An optional kit is available on a first come first serve basis for this quilt as shown in the images above. It features Heather Ross prints for the stars and a variety of low volume prints for backgrounds. 

If you would prefer, you may chose your own fabrics  and quilt size according to the requirement chart on the back of the pattern.

QUILT REQUIREMENTS FOR 72" X 72" THROW: 

• PATTERN:  Mosaic Star by Lo & Behold Stitchery

• Foreground Stars - (16) FQs - OR (16) 1/4-yd cuts - OR (8) 1/2 yds.
• Background 4 2/3 yd. 
• Binding: 2/3 yd. 
• Backing: 4 1/2 yd.

OTHER SUPPLIES: 

• Sewing machine with 1/4" foot

• Basic sewing supplies (scissors, thread, pins, seam ripper, rotary cutter, ruler, binding clips, etc.)

• Portable ironing board & mini iron (recommended)

We found the following Bloc Loc Rulers to be very helpful and we will review them in class but they are not required for making the quilt:

2:1 HRT (Half Rectangle Tringle) Bloc Loc Ruler in the large size (this is a set of two acrylic rulers, left & right facing).
2" x 4" Finished Flying Geese Bloc Loc Ruler
