2024 CLUB: SEWBOTS

Where RETRO meets MOD: SEWBOTS is a club geared toward modern quilts with throwback style. We’ll dial in on 3 quilt projects and meet for an atomically powered sew day once a month, January through December 2024! Join for 6 months or all 12 depending on the projects you’re interested in. SEWBOTS are an intermediate group of modern sewists ready to accelerate through projects that are anything but obsolete!

Every last Saturday, a monthly demo will begin at 10am then we will sew the day away together at the Schoolhouse until 5pm. Enjoy sewing with a network of friends who appreciate nostalgia as we rewind each month for a flash of the past and fast-forward with the most up-to-date quilting techniques.

For each project, you may choose to purchase the kit for 15% off or you may purchase the pattern only and choose your own fabrics (also 15% off). We also encourage stash busting to make your Sewbots projects truly your own. Contact the shop to prepay for your kit once you have registered for the club.

JANUARY - JUNE 2024: Our project is found in American Patchwork & Quilting magazine issue 181 and it's called Scrappy Celebration. Because part of the beauty of this quilt is using your scraps to create a masterpiece all your own, I have pulled a starter bundle of 22 fat quarters inspired by the original quilt in the magazine that you may purchase as a jumping off point. There are enough low volumes in this bundle to finish the quilt but you'll find you'll need to pull some of your own supporting colors and prints to complete the project. The starter bundle is optional and we are limited in supply. Once you have registered for SEWBOTS, you may contact the shop to purchase a starter bundle if you choose. Here's a snapshot of the bundle and quilt cover picture:

Our demos will be short and sweet for this project since the blocks use basic piecing methods. They will begin at 10:00 a.m.  Each month you'll have the chance to earn tickets for our drawing in three ways:
1. Be on time (10:00 a.m.)
2. Bring the previous month's assignment finished (anybody finish their Mod TVs?)
3. Bring a sew-n-tell project to share

Please, feel free to contact Sewbots Club leader, Jen Tanner with questions via email: jen.tanner@cornwagonquilts.com
