New Year Re-SEW-lutions.

Happy New Year! 2019 has arrived and with it, hope for good things to come. Some write down specific goals (live healthier, learn a language, increase savings) others chose one word to focus on (patience, presence, perseverance) and there are those who don't bother with New Year resolutions because, hey, why fix what isn't broken? I'm willing to bet those of you reading this at least have a few sewing goals in mind. Let's call then re-SEW-lutions. Will you focus on building or busting your stash? Power through one UFO per month? Upgrade your machine and learn how to use all it's fabulous functions? Keep up with a new BOM? Join a sewing club or quilt guild? Donate charity quilts? Develop your applique skills? Organize your creative space? I have a tendency to overwhelm myself with good intentions so this year I want to simplify. My re-SEW-lutions are to keep my sewing room in a state of high function and creative flow and to keep up with the two BOMs I am already involved in. They say accountability helps us reach our goals. Meeting monthly with my BOM groups really help me to pace my progress. Perhaps joining a class, club or event at the Corn Wagon will help you with your own re-SEW-lutions? You can do just that at our Open House next Thursday, January 10th - Saturday, January 12th. Come see what's new at the shop for 2019! We'll have our latest class schedule available in store and online and you can take advantage of discounts like 10% off regular class fees, 20% off class supplies and 25% of one regular price item of your choice! We hope you'll join us in advancing sewing skills and making progress with projects in the New Year!

New Year, New Fabric. And lots of it! We have had a major influx of beautiful new collections. From top left, we have spunky new prints from Jen Kingwell. See those bolts divided by a black line? Each bolt includes eight different designs so you can buy one cut and go home with a variety of designs! They're perfect for collecting for projects using EPP or applique or just a variety of scraps. Moving clockwise we have the complete Rosa collection by Crystal Manning, the entire Garden Variety line by Lella Boutique and some adorable black & white Moon Harvest prints by Wee Gallery of Dear Stella. Wouldn't they make for a perfect neutral nursery?

Quilter's Corn-er
Welcome to our new Quilter's Corn-er: a place where  we can update you on ideas and events
going on in our machine quilting department. New for 2019, we will offer a quilting motif of the month! Each month we will feature a different edge-to-edge, hand-guided motif. Receive 20% off the total cost of quilting when you request the motif of the month on any quilt you bring in for our in-house machine quilting service! The feature motif for January is hearts! We're looking forward to seeing all those cute Valentine's quilts you're making and quilting them with one of our all over, edge-to-edge heart designs. Below are two samples of edge-to-edge heart designs. The first by Ramona Sorensen, has echoing hearts with scrolling swirls. The second by Emily Herrick has meandering hearts. Both designs are included in January's motif special! Stop in the shop to see the many quilts on display that show samples of our machine quilting. Our turn around time is currently less than two weeks! See you soon!

P.S. Both of the close-up quilts are samples soon to be on display here at the shop! How cute is that love letter envelope?! You'll find that block in our table runner designed by Ramona Sorensen, exclusive to our shop! Kits coming soon! Janelle Gunderson designed a darling throw quilt using the Love is Spoken Here panel by Cori Dantini of Blend. We can't wait to show you the finished quilt and kits are on the way!
