Projects for every season! Plus Northern Lights Quilt Class Coming Right Up!

Tonight as I was leaving the quilt shop, I noticed something... the light! It was lighter after closing time than it has been for weeks and you know what that means? It's nearly time for winter to warm into spring! I wanted to cheer out loud. Don't get me wrong; I love all seasons and Utah is known for beauty in all four. Whether it be time to plant or time to harvest, time for sun or time for snowfall, blossoms or bounty, there's always something to marvel. For me, it's about the change; the steady shift in natural rhythms and that shift is often evident in the projects I'm working on. While most of the new fabrics currently arriving at the quilt shop feel like spring and summer, you might be surprised to find all seasons present at the Corn Wagon. So, whether you like to work on projects that reflect the current weather conditions or you like to plan ahead to have fresh quilts ready for coming events, we've got it all! Winter, spring, summer or fall!

Let's start with winter since we still have some snow on the ground here in Springville. As you walk into the quilt shop, you'll be greeted by this beautiful sight. You may recognize these quilts from last week's newsletter. Deep red, coal black and warm vanilla hues are reminiscent of a cozy hearth during the coldest months. A pillow made of toweling is appliqued with the word Joy for the holidays. A heart quilt perfect for Valentines Day or anytime your heart needs warming. Or how about the happy snowman pillow below! All of these winter themed projects are now available as kits in store.

Moving on to Spring, Averi Smith finished this beautiful Constance quilt just in time for the weather to warm. She chose a soft pink background to frame sweet floral fabrics. Can't you just smell the fresh blossoms? Our kit includes the Constance pattern by Robin Pickins with beautiful spring fabrics as shown for piecing the 76" x 93" quilt top and binding for $114.99.

Next comes summer! We're known for tree-lined streets here in our small hometown so this next quilt has a familiar summertime feel. Tiny Town by Pen and Paper Patterns is a delightful little neighborhood built using fabric from the Smol collection by Ruby Star Society. Our kit includes the pattern and fabrics for piecing the 62" x 70" top and binding. Cymoni Whatcott did a fabulous job piecing this one and the machine quilting by Emily Herrick adds to the Scandinavian modern flair.

And finally Fall. It may seem far away but now is a great time to start sewing an autumn quilt, one block at a time! The Fabulous Fall Quilt is a darling quilt to display through the harvest months! It's a 63" x 81" sampler style quilt with all things fall, including a pumpkin, owl, leaves, birds... I mean look at that turkey! This quilt kit by Riley Blake Designs comes packaged in a collectable project box with magnetic closure for $99.99. Our super cute sample was pieced by Susan Adams and machine quilted by Ramona Sorensen.

And for stitching fun all year round, we are loving these new wool applique patterns by Sew Cherished designed to change monthly using magnets on this darling metal stand! Collect all 12 "A Round the Year " kits and have fun switching up your own stitchery display. Pick up a stand in store today for $18.99. Each monthly kit is just $24.99. This is not a block of the month program so there is no need to register. Simply choose the monthly kit you want to start with and work at your own pace to build your collection!
