All for Fall! Welcoming autumn events, BOMs, fabric & of course, quilts!
Autumn is on it's way! Can you feel it? A bit of bite in the early morning air just hinting and the changes ahead. We're ready and waiting here at the Corn Wagon with fall fabrics, classes, block-of-the-month clubs and of course QUILTS! Stop in for some of the season's best inspiration. Our good friend Bone-ita has returned to share with you her favorite quilts for Halloween. She's a frightfully big fan of the Spooky and Sweeter fabric collection from Art Gallery Fabrics and so are we! So much so that we have two darling quilt kits available! Both are quick and easy to piece with large-scale blocks that really show off this unique line. 
Front and center, we have Jenny's Easy Carpenter's Star by Missouri Star Quilt Co. all dressed up for Halloween. Averi Smith chose a classic grey Peppered Cotton for a great background that allows the modern colors to shine. Custom machine quilting by Ramona Sorensen features friendly ghosts peeking through spiderwebs. Kits for this spook-tacular quilt include the pattern and fabrics for piecing the 83" x 83" quilt top and binding.
Bone-ita was looking a little chilly so we wrapped her up in another great Spooky and Sweeter quilt, though it's a bit hard to see in this picture. You need to come see it in person! Shannon White used a favorite free pattern download from modafabrics.com called Do the Shuffle to make the most of this fabric featuring cute witches and their wardrobe, bats, spiders and funky florals. Finishing at 70" x 82" inches it's perfect for wrapping up on a cozy autumn morning or after an evening of Trick-or-Treating.

The Potting Bench Block of the Month
We're almost ready to begin and only have a few spots still available in our newest wool applique block of the month! Join us for this 12-month program and make this beautiful Potting Bench quilt by Jerome Thomas Designs. Sign up today online or in-store with a $15 registration fee. Each month, beginning in September, you may pick up your kit on or after the 1st. Monthly kits will cost $34.99 and you will be charged through our subscription service. If you would like us to ship your kit to you, we would be more than happy to accommodate! A curious kitty, a nibbling bunny, beehive, birdhouse, clay pots, and gardening boots are just a few of the things you'll find waiting for you at the Potting Bench. The kit includes all the cotton backings, all the hand-dyed wool for wool applique, and the finishing borders and binding (Backing and threads not included). Bring together two of your favorite pastimes by sewing an ode to gardening!
The Halloween Figs Sampler is another block of the month starting soon! This beautiful project combines piecing and traditional applique to make a 66" x 72" finished quilt. Your $25 registration fee covers instruction with Natalie Smith and holds your kit (mostly Fig Tree's Pumpkins & Blossoms line, with a few friends!), which is available NOW for $249.99 to those registered for the BOM. This 13-month program will run every first Thursday from October 2021 - October 2022, beginning October 7th. We will be working on our blocks at home throughout the year, according to the time schedule proposed in the pattern by Fig Tree & Co. Our program will have one extra month, in October 2022, so we can show our finished quilt tops! Seats are very limited so reserve yours online today!
Goodness, we have so many fun things coming up this fall! National Sew a Jelly Roll Day is Saturday, September 18th and, once again, we'll be gathering at Corn Wagon Too for a day of sewing Jelly Rolls! The 3rd Saturday in September has officially been designated as National Sew A Jelly Roll Day to encourage collectors to tear open a Jelly Roll and make something for themselves, as a gift or for charity! As a quilter you likely have purchased those pretty 2-1/2" precuts without knowing exactly what you will make. As lovely as they are all packaged up, they end up on our shelves just waiting for the right project. Enter PROJECT: Jelly Roll, the annual event created to give you the perfect opportunity to turn that Jelly Roll into something wonderful! It can be a quilt or a tote bag, a pillowcase or something to wear, it doesn’t matter so long as we seize the day and celebrate the joy of being a maker. Reserve your seat at our retreat center right away! Then grab a Jelly Roll from your shelf, dust it off, choose a project and sew with us here at Corn Wagon Quilt Co. Due to fabric shipping delays, Lori Holt has rescheduled the My Happy Place Sew Along. Our shop will begin September 27th instead of August 30th and continue to meet every other Monday into December. The Sew Along Guide is available now on her blog.
