Time to Open Santa's Workshop! Christmas is Coming!

I know, I know... it's much too early to talk Christmas... but for us quilters, it's time to face the music (or should I say carols?) and admit that we must start sewing now in order to finish our quilting list for Christmas. Thank heaven the fabrics are already here! We currently have 8 new holiday collections on the shelf with more on the way! Traditional, vintage, whimsical, modern... we've got the Christmas goods.

These two jolly elves have us in the Christmas spirit this week at the Wagon as they have welcomed the first session of It's Sew Shannon's Schoolhouse Retreat guests. Shannon's theme this year is "Let It Be Christmas" so she has decked the halls of the retreat center with all the festive holiday fun you would expect. We're looking forward to two more sessions in the coming weeks. Bring on the Christmas Cheer!

One of the most anticipated collections for 2022, Cheer and Merriment by Fancy That Design House is here and going fast! Stephanie Sliwinski has given her signature vintage look a pepermint twist for the holidays. Taking inspiration from hymns and familiar tunes, Stephanie's art is always uplifting. Yardage, precuts and a fabulous panel are in-store as well as giftable tea towels, tins and drawstring bags!

We can always count on Urban Chiks to provide a Christmas line full of nostalgia. It's the stuff holiday memories are made of. For 2022, we have another darling boxed kit from Moda Fabrics! Holly Jolly Santa has you on his good list. You'll piece a quick and easy plaid border to frame this red suited fella who is printed on a convenient panel. Everything you need to piece this 53" x 63" quilt top and binding is included in a collectable box for $109.99. Pick yours up at the shop or online here.

More plaid for your holiday pleasure, Angie Pope threw together this Christmas classic quick as Santa slipping up the chimney (shown above & below). Using the free Gingham Quilt pattern found on quilterscandy.com Angie paired two favorite Christmas prints from the Old Fashioned Christmas collection by My Mind's Eye against a white background. You can recreate what's sure to become a favorite seasonal throw quilt (the pattern's finished size is 55" x 65" however we included enough fabric to add two rows to the width and length of the quilt) with one of our kits found in-store and online!

Now, if you're just not ready to think Christmas yet, you can still get a jump start on your winter quilting with this new collection from Dear Stella. Wooly sweaters, winter wildlife, snowmen and twinkling lights will get you in the mood for snowy days ahead. If you start now, you'll have this snuggly Twist and Turn quilt by Wendy Sheppard to keep you warm! Our friend, Pam Rock put this 69" x 81" cutie together and we have kits in store and online.

Nothing says winter like wool! It just so happens that we have plenty of the hand-dyed and felted variety. Come in and see all the fun wool applique projects available as kits. Hugging Ewe (pillow, left) is a happy window into a magical winter world by Jerome Thomas. Vicki Wood hand stitched our sample and we are delighted to have it on display along with more than 20 wooly Christmas designs! The Merry Christmas Wool Stitchery (framed, right) is a design found in the Art to Heart book, I Believe. Marianne Michaels transformed it into wool applique wall art. This unique kit has become a best seller here at the shop. Pick up a kit in-store or on our website where you'll find many, many more options in wool applique for all seasons.
