All Hallows Eve is Nigh!...and we've got a few treats for YOU!

All Hallows Eve is Nigh! Do you have some stitching to do this frightful weekend? I'm not talking Franken-style. I mean of the quilting sort, of course. As part of my own Halloween tradition, between answering the door for tricks and treats, I look forward to an evening of handwork while watching Halloween flicks (nothing too scary for this gal). Since wool applique has my heart, I have my wool stitching all ready to rock-n-roll. I may even put on a costume...

Halloween Wool Kits are currently 20% off! Kits for Halloween pillows, table toppers and wall quilts from designers such as Buttermilk Basin and Threads that Bind... we have lots of spooky wool projects to choose from in-store and online ranging in price from just $10.99 - $49.99.

For all of your other Halloween sewing needs, our Halloween Cotton Fabric Yardage is now 30% off in-store and online! We still have fabric from the Spooky Darlings collection by Ruby Star Society as well as Bad to the Bone by My Mind's Eye and Witchypoo by Renee Nanneman. Stock up now for next year's projects!

Speaking of next year's projects... Join us as we conjure up this frightfully fantastic quilt during 2023! The Hocus Pocus quilt by Corinne Sovey will be such a MAGICAL quilt-along! Natalie Smith will lead this Block-of-the-Month class here at the Schoolhouse every first Thursday, starting January 2023 and ending October 2023. At each BOM class, we will distribute fabrics, do a giveaway, have a show & tell, and Natalie will demonstrate the techniques used in that month’s blocks.

Our kits for
the Hocus Pocus quilt feature the best-selling Spooky ‘N Sweeter line from Art Gallery Fabrics and follows a mockup from Corinne Sovey herself. Kits using these exact fabrics will ONLY be available through this Block-of-the-Month program, and will be available to only 12 class members – so sign up today online! $30 registration fee secures your seat in class. Our BOM subscription program will automatically charge your credit card $20.99 per month for 10 months beginning in January and includes the pattern and kits for piecing the 60" x 72" quilt top.
Of course, you can pull your own kit together. Simply join the class by registering for $30, then purchase the pattern and your own fabric selection with your 15% off class discount at the Corn Wagon.

Confident beginning quilters who have completed at least one pieced quilt should be able to make this quilt, with the instruction provided in the program. Designed as a modern skill building program, techniques used in this quilt include: traditional piecing, half-square triangles, snowball corners, flying geese, foundation paper piecing, a small bit of applique, and inset circles. By starting in January, you'll easily have this quilt finished for next Halloween!

We have one more treat in-store for you this weekend... Stuff-a-Bag Sale is tomorrow, Saturday October 29th! Bring in your reusable, cotton Corn Wagon bag and receive 20% off any regular priced items you can "stuff" inside. Don't have a bag yet? Purchase one for $5 and reuse it every 5th Saturday for the same great Stuff-a-Bag Sale!

Corn Wagon Birthday P.J. Party Sale
Saturday, November 5, 2022 from 9am - 5pm
You're invited! We're celebrating 23 years of quilting with our traditional P.J. Party Sale here at the quilt shop and... We've got exciting news to share as part of our celebration! Follow along on social media next week for a chance to win prizes and to catch our big announcement!

MOD BLOOMS QUILT CLASS: Join designer, Chelsea Ekberg of On the Mark Designs for this two-part quilt class here at the Schoolhouse, Thursdays, November 3rd and 10th, from 6:00pm - 9:00pm. When it comes to quilting and fabric design (for Cotton+Steel!), Chelsea's surface designs are inspiring and her portfolio of patterns is ever expanding. She will be teaching one of her most popular quilt patterns, Mod Blooms. By learning to piece two modern flower blocks, she'll show you how to make half-square triangles, flying geese and snowballed corners. With 6 hours of instruction and sewing time you'll be able to complete much of this unique quilt top with Chelsea's professional guidance in class. Register today online or in-store and stop in to see her fabrics and beautiful quilt on display at the shop! Click the image below to learn more about Chelsea!

Another great Bag Class coming right up! This fun-to-make Sidesaddle Pouch by Aneela Hoey is sturdy with a spacious, box-shaped interior.  The zipper allows it to open into a wide basket shape when the pouch is in use.  There are two zippered pockets -- one on each side of the pouch that will hold lots of additional tools and supplies. The construction is a little tricky, so joining bag expert, Shelley Taylor, is a must for this fun and useful pouch. Sign up and meet us at the Schoolhouse Thursday, November 10, Noon to 5 pm.
