Try a New Technique! Collage Quilting, EasyPiecing Grid, Bag Making...

Learn Something New at Corn Wagon Too!

Just when you thought you knew it all... some clever sewist comes up with a nifty new way of doing things. Techniques are ever-changing and always advancing the way we create. While one way of doing things isn't necessarily better than another (or is it?), you'll never know unless you try! It's important to experiment with new skills and that's where Corn Wagon's Schoolhouse comes into play. Who knows, you may just be inspired to devolp the next innovation in quilting!

Be sure to visit our online class list and calendar often to see what's new. There you'll find project photos, instructor bios, supply lists and of course the chance to register conveniently on the web. You'll also find project samples on display now at the quilt shop! From beginner-friendly projects to intermediate and advanced clubs, there's always room for YOU to learn something new at The Wagon!

Let me introduce you to three of our upcoming opportunities:

Collage Quilt Class

Shaylene Engh is a certified Laura Heine Collage Quilting instructor
and she is so excited to teach collage quilting!
Collage quilting can be a fun, non-stressful quilting project
(like never having to worry about matching points)
and is a great scrap buster!
It is an opportunity for you as a quilter to express
your creativity in a unique way!

Register now and join us at the Schoolhouse
Thursday, March 23rd, 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

In this class you will learn Laura Heine’s
basic techniques for Collage Quilting.
You and Shaylene will talk about supplies, fabric choices,
fabric placement, background, and finishing details
while working on one of Laura's Teeny Tiny Collage Quilt patterns!
Choose one of six designs (3 per pattern)
available now, in-store and online.

Piccadilly Squares - EasyPiecing Grid Class

In this two-part class you will make this traditional
on-point quilt in a non-traditional way!
Learn to use EasyPiecing Border Panels by TenSisters Handicraft
for a fun, fast, and accurate project.
You'll be amazed at how beautifully these 2" finished squares
come together using this modern grid method.

Using the grid ensures your on-point blocks remain stable without stretching!
This is a great SCRAP BUSTER and it's very simple to make this design larger.

You'll find the pattern in Carmen Geddes' book,
Around the Block Quilts available in-store and
here online.
Grid expert, Heather Dunn, is ready to show you how it's done at the Schoolhouse
Monday, February 27th and Monday, March, 6th from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

Sew Together Bag Class

Everyone knows The Sew Together Bag by Sew Demented,
but do you know the best way to put it all together?
Shelley Taylor, bag-maker extraordinaire, will guide you through each
seam, zipper and binding so you can have a professional finish
on this super functional bag
.

Registration is now open for
Saturday, April 15th, 1:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.

We have kits featuring the fabrics shown here
from the
Zinnia collection by April Rosenthal
as well as another, more muted color option
with fabrics by Fancy That Design House.
Kits are available in-store while supplies last
or our employees would be happy to help you
put together your own unique combination!
