It's been a while! It's high time we introduce you to another talented member of our team AND add another Curated by Corn Wagon bundle to the collection! Have you met Lynette Christensen? If not, you should. She's the best! When she's not happily helping customers at the shop, you'll find her running our hemstitching machine with the pedal to the metal. That's right! She's the one who hemstitches your custom requests and prepares our hemstitched receiving blanket kits so they're ready for you to crochet. It takes a gentle hand to keep that machine humming and Lynette's got it! She also makes many of our beautiful samples on display. She's one talented gal and a great friend to boot.
While growing up in Monticello, Utah, Lynette remembers her grandmother hand quilting beautiful quilts. Her mother followed suit and so Lynette's appreciation for quilts began in her childhood. She credits her sister for really getting her into the art of quiltmaking about 25 years ago. "I really wanted to try quilting but didn't have the time. Then my sister said, ' Oh, we're not actually quilting -- we're collecting -- if the fabric turns into a quilt that's a whole different thing." She was hooked! Since then, Lynette guesses she's made over 100 quilts. She started with a kit from Corn Wagon! It was a more traditional quilt with Cabbage Rose fabrics by Robyn Pandolph. (Anybody have some of that in their stash? I do!) Now she finds herself dancing between traditional and modern styles, rarely from the same collection. Her grandmother's signature quilt was the Triple Irish Chain and they've become a favorite make for Lynette too. Her grandkids LOVE her quilts and that's great for Lynette since for her, it's all about the process -- not having the quilt -- so she gives most of them away to those close to her.
Lynette has put together a gorgeous fat quarter bundle that represents her style. Some of her favorite designers are from Art Gallery Fabrics and Ruby Star Society and this set of 13 includes a bit of both. It's another Lucky 13 in the Curated by Corn Wagon collection. We have a limited number of bundles available now at the shop for $45. Stop in and grab one for yourself and while you're here, be sure to say hi to Lynette!
