Roam 2024 -- Where will your quilt journey take you this year?
Everyone's talking goals and resolutions. Whatever your aspirations for the new year are, we hope you get to sew more in 2024. Sounds a bit like a campaign slogan. Maybe we should make t-shirts and bumper stickers? Sew More 2024. I vote for that. Personally, I've decided to keep my resolution simple and just love more. I figure that lays the groundwork for improvement in all aspects of life; personal growth, relationships, health, and yes, even sewing. How so? I hope to put more genuine heart into my creative endeavors. I plan to give more of what I do and do more of what I love when it comes to my own quilt journey this year. We would love to hear about your sewing plans for 2024. What do you hope to learn, improve and finish in the coming months?
The Lighthearted quilt by Thimble Blossoms is truly infused with love. Designed by Camille Roskelley to be featured as part of Moda's Stitch Pink initiative to benefit breast cancer research and treatment.
From the designer: "What does it mean to be lighthearted? To me it means to be cheerful, full of love, and enjoying the simple things in life. Some of my favorite people have been lighthearted and full of hope, even in the middle of difficult treatments and challenging times. This collection is a tribute to them...."
I am so honored to be a part of Moda's Stitch Pink program. Too many women I love and adore have fought a battle with breast cancer over the years and watching them fight has been both inspiring and life changing. My hope with this collection is that we can do a lot of good through raising funds for important services and research as well as encouraging those in the middle of treatment. We love you and we are cheering you on."
This pretty quilt, now on display at the shop, was pieced by Natalie Smith and quilted by Tonya Colbert. It's available in-store and online as a boxed kit that includes the pattern and yardage for piecing the 84" x 84" quilt top and binding for $179.99.
While we're on the subject of love... How adorable is this My Valentine collection by Echo Park for Riley Blake Designs? Those little bouquets wrapped in newsprint are enough to win your heart. There's a super cute 36" x 42" panel that goes along too! Find yardage online here or in-store. It's going fast!

About that quilt journey... Roam is a new block -- or should I say round -- of the month by Tara Faughnan. I've already signed up! Have you? I've never made a quilt like this and I'm excited to learn a few things from Tara's super helpful video tutorials (free access provided with your Roam BOM subscription). Won't it be fun to watch this quilt grow from the center star, outward, border by border? Come see this striking quilt made by Josh Fernelius and quilted by Dorene Cole on display now at the shop! I love working with these Artisan Cottons by Windham Fabrics and Tara's unique color palette is show stopping. So let's do this! Let's Roam together and see where our quilt journey takes us this year.
