Quilts on the Set! Final Days of Utah Shop Hop 2024

Just two more days to finish up the 2024 Utah Shop Hop! If you haven't started hopping, there's still plenty of time to go shopping, plenty of quilty fun, plenty of prizes to be won! We've had an absolute blast welcoming so many quilting friends, some familiar, some new, as you stop in to check "Be on a Game Show" off your Bucket List. For those who can't make the hop, I'd like to share a few of our favorite quilts "on set." In preparation for shop hop this year, we looked for quilt patterns that reminded us of classic game shows. You might be surprised by how many we found! Not only do we have kits for each, we also had fun building displays, including 5 Fun Facts about each game show featured. See if you can guess the game show before reading the captions below.

Let's start with an easy one. Averi Smith pieced the incredible Dragon Fruit quilt by Laundry Basket Quilts. As you can see, it has a look reminiscent of the famous Wheel of Fortune. Colorful solids set apart by a mix of subtle low volume prints create eye-catching energy. Here's a photo of this unique quilt in all its glory below. BONUS: You'll get to spin our Wheel of Fortune for a quilty prize with your $50 purchase!

The next one might be a little trickier... Designed by Ramona Sorensen, this quilt features two traditional blocks scaled up to play along with the classic game show set. Natalie Smith chose a gorgeous mix of fabrics from the Imaginary Flowers collection by Gingiber to piece this 61" x 61" lap size quilt. If you guessed Hollywood Squares, ding, ding, ding, you're correct!

Up next; which game show set does the Best Buds quilt by Pen+Paper Patterns remind you of? How about The Dating Game! Cymoni Whatcott put together these tri-color daisy blocks for a look straight out of the 60's. We've already sold out of the kits once but have more in the works. You can order this kit or pattern on PRESALE!

The Record Player quilt pattern by Pen+Paper Patterns is so fun to make, we just couldn't stop with one block! Suzanne Jackman made nine Record Player blocks and added sashing and borders to create a 66" x 66" lap or wall quilt perfect for any vinyl enthusiast or music lover! Our kit includes Pen+Paper Pattern's block pattern (found as a pdf here: https://penandpaperpatterns.com) as well as a groovy range of solid colors and instructions for piecing Suzanne's version of this unique quilt. It was a perfect fit for the classic 1950's game show, Name That Tune.

Everyone loves a good I Spy Quilt and this low volume version by Woodberry Way has become a go-to kids quilt when Angie Pope is looking for a great gift! The pattern is a free download from www.woodberryway.com Our kit includes a fantastic stack of 5" low volume charm squares and a playful mix of solids for corners. It goes together lickety split! Easily increase the size by adding more rows using low volumes from your own stash! Binding and complimentary copy of the pattern by Woodberry Way included. Have you ever watched the game show Spy Games?

Another shop hop favorite has been Suitcases by Slice of Pi Quilts. Lynette Christensen put together an energetic mix of prints for a nod to Deal or No Deal. Which suitcase would you pick? It's been so loved, we only have one or two kits left in-store but we have the pattern open for PRESALE! We expect another shipment to arrive this week.

These are just a few of the quilts! You'll also find more game shows like $10,000 Pyramid, Concentration, Blockbuster, Plinko and Survivor. We even have a quilt made by Suzanne Adams that pays homage to the good old classic game boards of yesteryear. The Game On quilt by All Through the Night makes a nostalgic table topper or wall hanging. Our kit includes yardage for piecing the 34" x 34" quilt top and binding as well as the pattern (which is now out of print -- so get it while you can).

Game on, indeed, as you wrap up your shop hop with a stop at Corn Wagon Quilt Co. We hope you'll "Come on Down" for the final weekend -- and if you've already been here, we thank you for tuning in and playing along!
