Beginning Piecing, Hand Stitching, Bag Making -- Master the Basics at Corn Wagon Too!

Learn Something New at Corn Wagon Too!
We want you to fall in love with the art of sewing. Heaven knows we certainly have! The best way to do that is to begin with a solid foundation of basic skills and a circle of fellow makers for support. You'll find both in these upcoming classes at Corn Wagon Too. Join us in putting heart into the creative arts!
Let me introduce you to three of our upcoming opportunities:
Beginning Piecing Class
Do YOU want to learn how to quilt? Our Beginning Piecing Class is the perfect place to start! Meet Suzanne Jackman and Lynette Christensen at Corn Wagon Too, where they will teach you everything you need to know to select coordinating fabrics, measure and cut accurately, sew together blocks like a pro, and finish a quilt top. During this course you will make the beautiful Garden Stars Sampler lap-size quilt by Sherri McConnell of A Quilting Life, and it's full of the techniques you'll need in almost any other quilt pattern -- sign up and learn to piece today!
This 8-week course will take place every Wednesday, 3:00 - 5:00 p.m. beginning September 4th and finishing October 23rd, 2024
Course Fee: $125
Hand Stitching Class: Rooted or Tinsel
When you purchase one of our new Sue Spargo Kits, Tinsel (below) or Rooted (above), you can attend a free, 6-part hand stitching course where you'll learn fancy hand-embellishment stitches while you create one of these beautiful sampler quilts. Both wool applique quilts finish at 20 ½” x 23 ½”.
In the class we will discuss threads, needles and basic wool applique along with embroidery stitches.
The class will meet the 2nd Tuesday from 1:00 - 3:00 each month for 6 months. It will run from September 2024 - February 2025. The purchase of either the Tinsel or Rooted kit ($154.99 ea.) is required to attend the class. A hand stitching book is also required. We recommend either the Creative Stitching by Sue Spargo or the Right/Left-handed Embroiderer’s Companion (sold separately). Read full details, join the club and find links to purchase the quilt kits and thread kits, by clicking below.
Hemingway Pouch Class
Have you seen the viral Hemingway Pouch by Center Street Quilts on social media? Our instructor, Shelley Taylor, has been making them in so many ways -- using quilted cotton, vinyl, jelly vinyl, and even using the cast-offs from the pouch to make a second bag. They're perfect for protecting your tablet, bringing your book on the go, or toting supplies from place to place. Come and get all the tips and tricks and make some of these fun bags for yourself or for gifts!
Saturday, August 24th, 10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
Class Fee: $30
*Please note: Children 12+ may register but must have an adult accompanying them who is also registered in the class.
FUN IDEA: Create your own feature fabric by piecing small squares like Angie Pope did. This technique will not be taught in class but could be prepared ahead of time with a little creativity!
