As Summer draws to a close, it's a good time to give your sewing room a good cleaning before settling in for winter quilting hibernation. Our S.A.B.L.E. Sale is a great place to de-stash (and, yes, re-stash), knowing your beloved sewing treasures will go to a loving quilter's home. NEW TO THE SHOP! Suede-like softness that washes wonderfully, Snuggles Flannel by Art Gallery Fabrics is here! There's nothing else like it. We've found them to be the freshest designs in quilter's quality flannel. They're great for piecing! We recommmed sandwiching these with a 4 or 6 oz bamboo batting for an extra cuddly baby quilt. They also make a nice backing. We also love them for baby receiving blankets!
Looking for something more on the neutral side for your little one? Sweet almond is the current color trend for nurserys and this new collection fits perfectly! Gentle Night (below) is a calming new collection of high-quality baby flannel from Robert Kaufman.
But summer isn't over yet! Let's enjoy the garden just a bit longer. The bees are still all abuzz out there. This Queen Bees quilt honors these essential pollinators. Designed by Heather Dunn to be pieced using the EasyPiecing Grid by TenSisters Handicraft, it goes together something like a piant-by-number project and it's SEW fun! Our kit includes fabrics as shown for piecing the 54" x 72" quilt top as well as Heather's layout guide and general instructions for using the grid. For more in depth instruction, we recommend watching our YouTube tutorial featuring Heather teaching about the EasyPiecing Grid found here.
You may be familiar with the Scrappy Celebration quilt that was featured on the cover of BH&G American Patchwork & Quilting Issue 181 last year. Beginning in January, our Sewbots group accepted a scrap challenge. We started with a fat quarter bundle of lovable fabrics to use as a springboard then supplemented with scraps from our own stash to create unique versions of the Scrappy Celebration quilt. This is what I ended up with (I'm delighted!) and while I didn't intend for it to be... it's an ideal ode to my flower garden. I love the way it turned out. We have a few of the fat quarter bundles left in store, if you'd like to accept the challenge yourself!

Put yourself in Time Out at the Wagon in our School House located directly behind the quilt shop! At times we all need time out from housework, phone calls, and everyday responsibilities. Bring your current sewing project to “Time Out at the Wagon” and do just that. Marsha is looking forward to being in Time Out and hopes lots of you will join her.
