What's Happening at the Schoolhouse in September?

Learn Something New at Corn Wagon Too!

SEW much is happening at the Schoolhouse this month and there's still time to get signed up to learn something new. Starting with this Saturday, we have 3 different bag classes coming right up!  We also have our hand stitching class beginning one week from today. Of course we have a couple of quilt classes too! Then we have some unique classes open with Dara Tommason who will be visiting from Canada!

Visit our online class list and calendar to see all the fun in store for September. There you'll find project photos, instructor bios, supply lists and of course the chance to register conveniently on the web. You'll also find project samples on display now at the quilt shop! From beginner-friendly projects to intermediate and advanced clubs, there's always room for YOU to learn something new at Corn Wagon Too!

Let me introduce you to three of our upcoming opportunities:

Booklet Pouch Class

The Booklet Pouch by Aneela Hoey is a new style of pouch with a fun twist! This sturdy pouch is in a booklet format, with 4 see-through vinyl pockets to see contents at a glance. The whole thing zips up securely for travel or storage. This Booklet Pouch is perfect for your everyday sewing, to keep your letter writing supplies at hand, great for little toys for a car drive, and more! The instructions are for 2 sizes, packed with illustrations and step-by-step instructions.

Saturday, September 7th, 10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
Instructor: Shelley Taylor

Hand Stitching Class: Rooted or Tinsel

Only 2 seats left! When you purchase one of our new Sue Spargo Kits, Tinsel (below) or Rooted (above), you can attend a free, 6-part hand stitching course where you'll learn fancy hand-embellishment stitches while you create one of these beautiful sampler quilts.
Both wool applique quilts finish at 20 ½” x 23 ½”.

In the class we will discuss threads, needles and basic wool applique along with embroidery stitches.

The class will meet the 2nd Tuesday from 1:00 - 3:00 each month for 6 months. It will run from September 2024 - February 2025. The purchase of either the Tinsel or Rooted kit ($154.99 ea.) is required to attend the class.  A hand stitching book is also required. We recommend either the Creative Stitching by Sue Spargo or the Right/Left-handed Embroiderer’s Companion (sold separately). Read full details, join the club and find links to purchase the quilt kits and thread kits, by clicking below.

Double Rings Quilt Class

This class filled so quickly the first go-round that we're offering it again! If you only make one Quick Curve Ruler quilt -- let it be this one. Double Rings is a reimagination of one of the very first Sew Kind of Wonderful quilts (the original is called Metro Rings). This version features a little more detail with all the pizzazz of the first version -- combining to make a beautiful heirloom without all the templates. Join Cheryl Wallin's class and learn all the ins and outs of making this gorgeous Quick Curve Quilt!

Monday, September 23rd, 10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.

Instructor: Cheryl Wallin
