Sometimes spring can't make up its mind. Just when the sun shines through and tempts you out of hibernation, the clouds roll in and it snows again. On those gloomy days when it's just too chilly to get out and play, maybe some springtime stitching will warm your soul. Our wool department is blooming with new springtime projects including an exciting new block of the month by our local friend, Amy McClellan of Under the Garden Moon! More on that in a moment. First let's take a look at what you'll find as you walk through our door.

"Wherever you go, bring your own sunshine." Words to live by are presented in this happy 30" x 38" wall quilt designed by Primitive Gatherings. Our friend, Annette VanWagoner has graciously allowed us to display her beautiful work. This small project is a sewists delight with hand-dyed wool applique in vibrant hues, bordered by brightly pieced blocks. Our kit includes the pattern, wool for applique and cotton fabrics for backgrounds, border and binding for $149.99. 

Small pillows make an ideal project for some weekend slow stitching. Fluffy Bunny Pillows (above, left) by Buttermilk Basin can be ready in time for Easter. Work on the Spring Pillow (above, right) by Primitive Gatherings while you wait for your own tulips to bloom.

These vintage-inspired pillows by Buttermilk Basin remind of the Easters I spent at Grandma's house coloring eggs and hunting for treats. And now for the moment you've all been waiting for... 

A blooming garden of wonderful wool applique awaits through our new BOM quilt designed by Amy McClellan of Under the Garden Moon beginning July 1st, 2025. When you join this wool block of the month, you will receive the materials for one block each month plus sashing, borders and binding for 10 months. The 43” x 52” quilt features a variety of birds, flowers and baskets to brighten your home.   

Each block will contain the hand-dyed wool and cotton background to complete the block.  The Birds and Baskets pattern is included in the first kit. Threads and fusible web are not included.
