From 9:00 a.m. till 2:00 p.m. tomorrow, Saturday, June 7th you'll find sewing treasures galore. Help fellow makers ensure their cherished fabrics go to a loving home (for example, yours) where they'll blend beautifully in new quilty surroundings. Maybe you'll find that one out-of-print favorite that you need just a couple more yards of. Maybe you'll find just the right kit to whip up a special gift. Maybe you'll find a steal of a deal you didn't know you needed. You're sure to find serious treasures at the S.A.B.L.E. Sale.
The quilt shop will open at 9:00 a.m. and, as usual, we'll have our red dot clearance fabric marked down in the Schoolhouse to just $5.49/yd (one yard minimum) or $4.99/yd if you finish the bolt! Clearance fat quarters are only $2.00 and select 108" wide backing yardage will be on sale for $14.99! See you Saturday, rain or shine, for a great day of open-air fabric shopping!
Attention all local quilters!Entries are now being accepted for this annual event held during Springville's Art City Days. Finished quilts from all skill levels and ages are welcome. This is a non-juried show. Other sewing projects such as hand made clothing, bags and rugs will also be accepted. Admission is free for this two day event. The public can view this beautiful collection of quilts and handcrafted items and vote for their favorites. The annual Art City Days Quilt Show is held on Friday and Saturday, June 13th and 14th at Cherry Creek Elementary North Gym (directly behind the museum) 485 South 200 East, Springville, Utah. Come see the quilts, enjoy other community festivities and of course visit us at the Corn Wagon. We're just up the street!
It's time for another Curated by Corn Wagon bundle! You may recognize the cute Corn Wagon gal you see here as Angie Pope. She's the type of soul who is an instant friend to everyone she meets. People are what mean the most to Angie and that shines through all she does here at the shop. From ensuring online orders go out with care to making events like the shop hop and S.A.B.L.E. Sale come together in the best way possible, her thoughtful nature is truly admirable. We're incredibly grateful for the role she has played as part of our team. Angie's fat quarter bundle (above) features her favorite color, green paired with blues and a zippy yellow highlight. You can pick one up at the shop for $45 while supplies last!
Angie started sewing as a teenager with guidance from her mom who is an artist, in fact, an art teacher by trade. That creative spirit is in Angie's DNA. "Creating is like breathing, I just have to do it." Her favorite quilts to make have been those with deep meaning behind them, those with heartfelt connections. One comes to mind that was made for her nephew Caleb... special quilts that have been a part of healing, lending love and support are the most rewarding for Angie to make.
What inspires Angie? She loves modern fabric artists and pattern designers. This adorable Top Knot quilt by Pen+Paper patterns was made by Angie to go on display at our shop hop. We have kits! Angie has an affinity for OG Cotton+Steel as well as Heather Ross originals. Speaking of Heather Ross... her new Studio Edit collection is here (but you'll want to hurry in before Angie adds it all to her stash -- wink, wink). We're sad to say Angie is leaving our staff. But do not fret! She'll be close by and we'll always consider her one of the gals.
