Fresh patterns they find really shine in saturated colors and textures unique to this resilient fiber. Ready to delve into a wool applique quilt? Our new Raven BOM begins October 14th and we have just a couple spots left! For this block of the month, we have adapted The Raven pattern by Blackbird Designs for wool applique on cotton backgrounds. 

Moody, autumn hues stitched in wool and cotton tell the tale of The Raven. Inspired by Edgar Allen Poe’s poem, each block’s name is taken from a bit of Poe’s poetry. Our quilt sample was pieced and appliqued by Marianne Michaels with custom free-motion quilting by Emmy Evans.

This nine-block, 68" x 68" quilt is perfect to welcome fall. The birds, whether perched on a pumpkin or silhouetted by the light of the harvest moon, beckon the cooler months ahead. Autumn has our retreat center hopping! This week we welcomed a group of quilters from Mexico and beyond! Rosie hosted a special retreat for her quilty friends in our Sunset Room. We were delighted to discover that she had a special guest, Norma Whaley of Timeless Traditions present a private trunk show and applique class! What a privilege to see Norma's piles of quilts and learn from a star in the quilting universe. It was so fun to meet this group who had a great time learning, sewing and shopping together!
