Give your local quilt shops some love this Saturday! January 24th is Local Quilt Shop Day! We're spoiled with a spectacular line up of quilt shops here in Utah. We know how easy it is to click and buy fabric online but it's your local brick-and-mortar shops that give you the chance to really delve into the quilting experience. You know, touch and feel all the pretty fabrics. See the colors in person. Get personalized help with decisions. It's about the community that you can become a part of and the unique flair each shop offers. Make the rounds this weekend to show your support and help your local quilt shops thrive.

This Saturday (tomorrow), enjoy 20% off all Notions! Grab the essentials, replace worn out tools, try something new... from needles and thread to rotary cutters and mats, even interfacings are considered notions! Hit the bag makers department for zippers, webbing and hardware. Restock your embellishment thread stash. If it's a notion, it will be 20% off January 24th! Online shoppers use coupon code NOTIONS20 at checkout for the same great sale this Saturday.

You know we love Valdani Perle Cotton Thread... Unfortunately, like so many imported goods in the industry, a price increase is imminent. We have a great selection on hand at the current price of $6.29/ea until February 1st. We suggest stocking up now before the price goes up to $6.99/ea. with another possible increase in the forecast. We love this thread for its hand-dyed colorations and impeccable quality. It's ideal for any hand stitching project that recommends perle cotton.

Red White and Blue. It's been a classic color scheme throughout history, especially here in the United States. These colors create visual energy as contrasting hues on the color wheel. Together they evoke emotion with their strong symbolism. They hold a prominent place in the culture and history of our country. Americana quilts are seeing a resurgence as July 4, 2026, marks the United States 250th birthday. This Semiquincentennial has inspired so many designers to create collections and projects featuring none other than the red, white, and blue that we hold dear. The first of these are arriving now!

Steeped in tradition, American Gatherings III by Primitive Gatherings does justice to true red, white and blue. Small traditional prints feature stars, stripes and tiny florals. The mini quilt project sheet shown above is a free PDF pattern download from Moda found here. It calls for one Mini Charm Pack (2.5" precut squares), a few small additional prints, a scrap of wool and a touch of embroidery work. Find everything you need at the shop or on our website!

As always, Lisa Bongean has come up with an impressive collection of projects to go along with this release. Pick up her latest quilt pattern book and grab one of the fabric panels featured on the cover. You won't be disappointed!

What happens when you focus on the coral, pinks and blues from a beautiful sundrenched collection like Rosie by Fig Tree & Co.? You come away with a fresh take on a traditional red, white and blue quilt. These prints are must-haves for any Fig Tree fan.

For Rosie is a quilt project that comes as a boxed kit by Moda and it's a beautiful example of a softened interpretation of an Americana quilt. This kit includes the pattern and yardage required from the Rosie collection for piecing the 58.5" x 65.5" quilt top and binding for $147.99 and it's available now!
One more collection for your red, white and blue enjoyment, Primitive Cloth by our friends at Sew Kind of Wonderful has arrived. Here's what they have to say about it. Stay tuned for more to come by way of red, white and blue in 2026.
