Comin'atcha from "Under the Sea," for the last two days of the Utah Shop Hop (and yes, that's our favorite lobster, Sebastian on my head). Things are going just swimmingly at the Corn Wagon where The Little Mermaid is on "The Silver Screen." We're having the best time greeting familiar friends and new smiling faces too!

Thank you for your enthusiastic support though 25 years of the Utah Shop Hop. If you haven't been yet, you still have time! Today and tomorrow, we'll be open 10 a.m. - 6 p.m.. Unable to attend? Take a tour of our shop to see our featured quilts and fun displays on Instagram and Facebook! I'd love to show you a few snippets of what you'll find. The whale quilt above? It's the Preppy Pod quilt by Elizabeth Hartman made by Cymoni Whatcott. You can get the PDF pattern at elizabethhartman.com

We had to make a Mermaid quilt and Karen Averett did a wonderful job sewing up the Mermaids quilt, again by Elizabeth Hartman. Grab a kit here! To the right, Kristy Johnson put together an amazing mix of purples and blues for the Fronds Quilt by Suzy Quilts. We have kits for this one too in-store and you can purchase the PDF pattern on Suzy's website.
If you have been following along on social media, you've seen our photo op backdrop that highlights the Lagoon quilt using the Reef collection, both by Kate Spain for Moda. Lynette Christensen had so much fun making it! We have lots of yardage, Layer Cakes and just a few kits left in-store. While you're here, be sure to snap a pic of your quilt gang with our jelly fish umberellas or in our giant clam shell complete with pearl.

We've had so much fun finding quilt designs for our Little Mermaid theme! Let's not forget handsome prince Eric and his tumultuous voyage on the sea. On the left, Jen Tanner made a traditional Ocean Waves quilt the easy way, using Triangles on a Roll. Liberety of London blues and golds (think sand and sea) give this one a classic feel. Kits are almost gone but you can find the pattern PDF here.
To the right, Marianne Michaels made the striking Sterling Charm quilt by Lakeview Quilting with a central design that resembles a compass. William Morris & Co. fabrics offer timeless elegance. Find a kit here and the PDF pattern at lakeviewquilting2.com

Another ocean inspired beauty pieced by Marianne Michaels, Sea Swept is a swirling combination of traditional storm at sea and snails trail blocks. Foundation paper piecing ensures precision. Our kits are truly one of a kind with a scrappy blend of ocean hues. Find the PDF pattern by Laura Flynn here.

You knew we would include wool projects, right? School by Wendy Williams is a happy little wall quilt with wonderful embellishment stitching on each fish in the school. A cotton ombre is an ideal background. Marianne Michaels worked her hand applique and embroidery magic. We have a very limited number of kits.
Can we talk for a moment about the primitive rug hooking work of art you see above? We are honored to showcase this masterpiece by Linda Priest. She adapted a pattern found in a book by Minick and Simpson to create an awe inspiring americana mermaid. Tiny beads worked into the wool strips add unexpected shimmer. You've got to see it in person! Many thanks to Linda for loaning us this piece as well as many of our decorations.

And finally, our 2026 Shop Hop Quilt. Designed by Ramona Sorensen, Bubbles is a free pattern you'll receive when you visit our shopduring the hop! Creatures from both land and see can be discovered in each bubble. Prints from Tula Pink are always perfect for adding a bit of whimsy to a quilt. This fat quarter friendly quilt would make a fun I-Spy quilt!
Ursula is ready to steal a kit for herself. These fun tentacles, as well as the seahorses, coral, ships wheel and more were loaned to us by Art City Elementary from their production of the Little Mermaid Jr..

So much goes into the shop hop each year but the best part is seeing all of you enjoy your time here at the shop. Thank you for coming to see us. We hope to see you again soon!
