Happy Fall, Y’all! This week the Autumn Equinox brings the coming of shorter days, longer nights, cozier weather, and what I like to call “Quilt Season”. As Summer turns to Autumn, it’s time to finish up the harvest and put your gardens to bed, to get out those darker-colored clothes, and to pull out all the warmest quilts! It’s time to get COZY.

The change of seasons also brings a little changing of the guard here at Corn Wagon Quilt Co. After over 16 years of amazing customer service, thoughtful management, and wonderful friendship, Jen Tanner is leaving our management team for personal reasons. Queue the waterworks, because we’re all so sad that our relationship status is set at “friend” instead of “mentor” – Jen will always be a special part of Corn Wagon history, and we’re going to miss her. You will still see her around – she’ll need to stop by for fun projects and supplies, just like the rest of us!

With this change in leadership, that means someone new is in charge of this newsletter.

Hi! I’m Natalie Smith, and I love playing with fabric and talking about quilting! Textile arts have been a part of my whole life, since we have a family tradition of being crafty ladies and gents. The men and women in my family do quilting, woodworking, engineering, embroidery, and all the fiber arts. I had a baby quilt and a special homemade toy (lovingly known as Bob Blob) made for me by my creative Mom before I was even born! And my Dad made a special piano stool shaped like a turtle so I could reach the keys when I was just tiny.

In addition to quilting, I also love to read and write -- so I decided to call my little corner of the internet the Corn Wagon Chronicles. I’m especially excited about this little love letter to all of YOU that I get to send each week. I’ve never met a nicer bunch than our Corn Wagon customers! I’m excited to get to share more about all the fun things we’re doing at Corn Wagon Quilt Co, and let you see a little more of how I view our quilting world.
